The Story

Building on the success of 2023 which built on the success of 2022, we are looking for financial support to produce The Nutcracker at Theatr Brycheiniog for Christmas 2024. Our biggest cost is the salaries of the professional dancers and orchestral musicians. At the heart of the production is the community cast and production team who work and perform alongside the professionals.

"It is bewildering that the Arts Council of Wales, in its wisdom (sic), fails to support the amazing endeavour by the people of Brecon. The team behind THE NUTCRACKER works tirelessly each year, without payment, to give the gift of this Christmas ballet to the people of Wales. Such an endeavour should be applauded. Loudly! As it was after the performance before a full house on December 21st 2024."
